Marco Bazzoli
After finishing scientific high school he went on to attain no less than 5 musical diplomas: 1) Diploma in trombone with Luigi Salvi (Conservatoire of Trento), 2) Diploma in band instrumentation with Armando Franceschini (Conservatoire of Verona), 3) Diploma in choral music and choir conducting with Maestro Armando Franceschini (Conservatoire of Trento), 4) Diploma in composition with Armando Franceschini (Conservatoire of Trento), 5) Diploma in orchestral conducting with Giampiero Taverna (Conservatoire of Milan). He is currently involved in the research and rediscovery of 16th centuary vocal poliphony as member of the vocal chamber music group "Il Virtuoso Ritrovo" which holds important concerts in Italy and abroad . Maestro Bazzoli is a member of the technical committee of the Federation of Bands of the Province of Trento and combines his teaching work with other musical activities. In 1992 he was called to take part in the international jury which was present at the first edition of the Flicorno d'oro competition. Since 1989 he has conducted the corpo musicale di Gardolo with which he attained: 1st prize (in the category small band) at the 2nd international band competition Flicorno d'oro, receiving also a special mention from the jury as the most promising conductor ; 2nd prize in the national band competition in Brescia ; 5th prize and 4th prize respectively in the first category of the 1995 and 1997 editions of the Flicorno d'oro competition. Since 1991 he has been asked to conduct all the concerts so far held by the Trentino Brass Band and whilst he is often called to direct the "Ottoni del Concilio" he also manages to conduct the Grande Banda Rappresentativa (Large Representative Band), wind ensemble composed of the best players within the bands of the Federation of the Province of Trento. With this band in particular he often participates in important concerts in Italy (for example, the gala concert for the International Competition "Farfalla D'oro") and abroad (for example, the concert in Schladming, Austria, at the eighth WASBE world conference, representing Italy). Bazzoli is also active in the research and development of music for band, whether as an associate of WASBE Italia (italian section of the World Association for Symphonic Band and Ensemble) or as a member of the technical committee of the Federation of bands of the Province of Trento.
