The concerto draws inspiration from two cultures, Turkish and Armenian, which today prefer to ignore each other due to a painful history of hostility. The first movement is inspired by Turkish folk music, the third by Armenian folk music. In the second movement I portrayed myself as a melancholic yet joyful dreamer, dreaming of a peaceful world.
